Hey! I'm trying to figure out this tricky issue with my monitor's DisplayPort connection. This is the second attempt I've made, and I'm adding notes on everything I've tried. People have told me DP cables can be unreliable, especially with low-quality ones; yet I've managed to stay trouble-free for about two years now. Recently, problems started unexpectedly—sudden black screens that appeared and disappeared without warning, sometimes lasting a couple of seconds, other times lingering longer. Occasionally it would flicker briefly for a few seconds before returning to normal. Eventually, the flickering intensified, causing longer blackouts and more frequent 10-15 second outages. There was also some artifacting, which pushed me to switch to HDMI instead. All three HDMI inputs (including the 2.0 and two 1.4 versions) are working perfectly now, with no issues at all. But the HDMI connection itself is still showing signs of trouble. Slowly, the same symptoms are appearing again on my HDMI setup—random flickering and artifacts, maybe a few times daily. I started questioning whether the monitor's DP port was faulty or just the cable. I hoped things would improve, so I purchased a new cable, but it was one of those questionable ones. Cost and shipping hassles made it tough. I tried the new cable for a night, then the next morning it started again. The problem escalated quickly, with the monitor freezing and attempting an endless handshake with the GPU. I followed all troubleshooting steps: powering off, restarting, adjusting Windows and AMD settings, reinstalling drivers, tweaking security options. Still nothing worked. Eventually, after a day of testing, it crashed again.

Update: After several months, the same issues persist. I added a rough update, but problems with HDMI continue. The display now shows flickering and artifacts occasionally. It's almost imperceptible, but I can see them forming. Progress has been minimal. I even tested a theory suggesting the monitor's power supply might be the issue—turning it on or off, adjusting settings, even changing AMD configurations didn't help. I reinstalled Windows and drivers, messaged through countless AMD tweaks, but nothing resolved it. Now the monitor is showing signs of failure again, and I'm starting to think it's genuinely deteriorating.

Recently, I considered the possibility that the power supply was the root cause. During tests, moving or adjusting it seemed to stabilize the image briefly before the flickering returned. Buying a new power supply didn't fix things. I managed to test it with another PC, but the flickering and DisplayPort problems stayed. The extra power supply helped a bit with another machine, which made me suspect the original PC's hardware might be compromised.

Some observations from my testing: Flickering and artifacts in DisplayPort become noticeable only when the screen shows mostly white or simple content. If I open something like YouTube or change my desktop background, the issues worsen and can crash the system. This pattern suggests I'm dealing with a persistent hardware concern rather than just software glitches.

Considerations: My system uses a BIOS from Biostar Racing, a Ryzen 7 3700X, an Radeon 6600 GPU, and has a 32GB non-ECC DDR4 RAM. The PSU is an EVGA 500W Bronze unit, and I'm running a 120GB SSD with a 1TB WD drive, Lenovo HDD, and a 1TB Kingston NVMe SSD. The monitor is GameFactor MG600 V1, 144Hz, with DisplayPort and HDMI ports. I've used a CM cooler, a CM fan, and a case with multiple USB ports. The monitor itself is a 2.0 port model with HDMI 1.1 and 1.2 cables, and I've tried various power supply options without success.

I'm really stuck here and don't want to keep guessing. If anyone has faced similar problems, I'd really appreciate a helping hand.
