About a week back I placed an order for USB extenders and 30-foot fiber DisplayPort cables to move my PC tower to a different room. The USB: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09PYPHJYR?psc...ct_details The DisplayPort: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09PYL24RY?psc...ct_details Everything proceeded smoothly except for my USB webcam. I temporarily set it aside since it wasn’t crucial, but today I needed it to function properly. I connected the cable from the monitor (probably USB-B) to the USB extender, then to one of the monitors’ USB ports. When I attempted this, the signal vanished from the monitor—it remained on but showed no signal and turned black. I attempted to reset everything, but it still didn’t work. I’ve had two DisplayPort cables for two monitors; the other one is fine. I switched the DisplayPort cables on the affected monitor, but it still lacked signal while the other worked. So the cables seem intact. I also tried resetting the monitor to its initial settings, but that didn’t help. Could something have been permanently damaged? Are there other steps I can take to resolve this? I also used an HDMI cable to the monitor, which worked, and the DisplayPort appeared to be fine. The affected LG UltraGear 34GP950G-B monitor is now functioning again. I read a tip to unplug the monitor completely and leave it for a while, which seemed effective. DisplayPort is back online. Does the camera connect to the monitor without being plugged into an extension? Does it have its own power source? I faced a similar issue and resolved it by avoiding the USB cable for power and using the camera's built-in supply.

I'm trying to understand how to link the second monitor correctly. - I connect it via a display port using an adapter, then use a USB cable back to another adapter for the display port. The adapter might be a proper cable or a separate unit. - I switch to a USB-to-display adapter and repeat the process. The adapter could also be a proper cable or a dedicated extension. - I test both connections one by one. - I reinsert the second monitor into the display port and power it on. If it shows "No connection found," I check the monitor settings to see where it thinks it's connected and adjust accordingly. - I connect the first monitor using the same adapters. - I attach the second monitor with its own display cable. - I use the standard display cable for the first monitor. This approach helps determine if the issue lies with the port or the cable, and it follows a logical troubleshooting path.
