Displaying unpredictable white interruptions
Hey there, I recently bought a Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 at a great deal during Black Friday and noticed some random glitches on the screen while playing games. They show up unexpectedly, sometimes for just a moment or two, with varying sizes, mostly appearing during more intense gameplay or when streaming media. I also updated my GPU drivers yesterday and changed nothing else. The issue started after using a powerful laptop with a USB-C to DP1.4 cable, but the display worked fine for the first few days. Resetting the settings didn’t help. Anyone have tips? Could it be a cable problem or is my new monitor faulty? 20241202_223621.mp4
It seems there might be a wiring problem, as the monitors' included cables are of poor quality. If you're using the provided cable, consider switching it for a VESA-certified alternative. The monitors should have come with both HDMI and DP cables—have you tried replacing them to see if it works? That would be the best first step.
The GPU and cables are worth considering. Try connecting to another device using a different cable—if it works, contact Samasung for a replacement. Alternatively, test your existing monitor with the new cable.
