Displaying issues at 4K resolution
Received an update to the issue. Purchased a new graphics card but found the manufacturer only used two PCI/e cables instead of the three-cable splitter included with the RTX 4080. As a result, the card has always been underperforming. I now connected the splitter with three cables in hopes it would resolve the problem, but it still stutters. Is there any chance the card could be permanently harmed by running it at insufficient power?
I purchased a new card (4090) and installed it on my PC. My usual gaming buddy (on Discord) was there when I checked for stuttering. There were none—just smooth gameplay. When we resumed, stuttering returned. We discovered Discord was the culprit. Initially, we lowered the priority settings, which resolved the issue. We tried disabling hardware acceleration and adjusting DPI settings, but nothing worked. My friend found a video suggesting changes to DPI. The 4K resolution might be conflicting with Discord’s performance. Solution: Press Windows + R, type 'discord', right-click the app, choose 'Go to file location', click the shortcut, go to the 'Compatibility' tab, select 'Change high DPI settings'. Then set it to use the display resolution for this program instead of the default. This should help with scaling problems. We’re glad we fixed it after two weeks of troubleshooting. Hope this helps others facing similar issues.
