In short, my display goes black and the fans speed up unpredictably, whether I'm playing games or browsing. I think the GPU fans are kicking in when they're not being used much, which explains the random behavior. After a while, the audio stays on for a bit but everything freezes eventually. I can trigger it by hitting my desk hard, suggesting there might be an issue inside the GPU. This problem has been ongoing, but it disappeared after I replaced the motherboard. Recently I upgraded my CPU and added another hard drive, yet the issue returned, so I'm wondering if someone knows what's causing it. I'm using low-quality aftermarket power cables from Amazon. My system specs include a Ryzen 5 5600, a Ryzen 5 1600 G-series card with 6GB RAM, and a B350 Tomahawk 16GB Vengeance LPX cooler on a PSU of 550W.

Seems like a poor connection quality with the PCIe interface.

This case really complicates things. It seems you’re familiar with how the system operates, so you might start by checking the power setup. Consider taking the power supply out of the case and turning off the side door. Try connecting it normally through the side while it’s unplugged to see if the problem persists. It’s odd that vibrations or movement seem to trigger issues—maybe low-quality extensions aren’t providing enough voltage, causing the computer to freeze or shut down because it can’t get the power it needs.

It seems you're describing a situation with your Asus board and RAM issues. You mention a QVL list recommendation that helped resolve the problem, and you provided a link to the relevant documentation. This appears to be about troubleshooting and optimizing your system.

It's unusual because the issue impacts the GPU cooling fans while problematic RAM usually leads to crashes or freezes.

This was my first issue—screen froze, fans spun loudly, and the Asus Aura stopped working properly. Now I get random crashes after every few starts, showing a blank screen for 8 to 12 seconds. I haven’t experienced this again since replacing the RAM.

I don’t know the exact number of RAM chips, but if there are two or more, begin by removing one at a time and checking if the issue persists. This likely points to a RAM problem. Alternatively, you can take out all the RAM and reinstall it to test.

I'm checking some online discussions about defective power cables leading to black screens. I plan to test this out tomorrow.
