The main focus is the title, I will begin Rust and load into the main menu. It feels like a rush to join a server since otherwise my display would go black and all fans would spin at maximum speed. Restarting the computer is only possible via the power button. This issue has persisted for a long time, but it’s becoming increasingly annoying. It occurs specifically when I’m in the main menu of the game. Once I enter a server, it works normally, which seems illogical. I’ve checked my GPU temperature and it’s rising significantly in the main menu—around 89 degrees, drawing about 120W. Despite this, after running a full stress test under heavy load, my computer maintained display stability. Still, I’m puzzled about why being in the main menu triggers this behavior. Over the years, I’ve tried many solutions... years of trying. The time until my display fails in the main menu varies randomly—sometimes it happens instantly as I enter the menu, other times it takes a minute or two. My goal is just to play the game. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have another PSU. What's unusual is that it only works with Rust. Also, the PSU is really old—seven years, so the rest of my components are likely outdated.

It's very likely you're experiencing power issues when the FPS drops. This is probably due to a high frame rate combined with maximum power consumption. It might be related to the card or PSU, but I think the card is more likely since your stress test didn't show the same problem.
If you're okay replacing thermal pads and applying paste to the video card, that would help.
If Rust can't limit frame rate in settings, use tools like RTSS to cap it.
