Hello! I recently acquired a used HP Pavilion 15-eh-1001nx equipped with a Ryzen 7 5700U, 16GB RAM, 3200 MHZ processor, and a 512 GB SSD. (For more details, feel free to ask.) Occasionally the screen turns black along with the HDMI display, and you’ll notice the music stops while the fans shut down. Switching to a power adapter helped somewhat, but it’s still functioning and I’m having to perform a hard reset. The warranty period is about a month and a half, according to the second-hand store. It’s not for cash, but they accept trades if repairs aren’t possible. Anyone have any advice or should I just return it? Thanks!

Sounds like a hardware issue with that laptop. When it stops like that, does it come right back to where it was, or does it have to boot up like you did a shutdown? Does the battery work? Your easiest solution would be to return/warranty it and see if the store has anything comparable.

Sorry to hear that. The display turns all black, it seems the external monitor isn’t working through HDMI, and both audio and the fans cease functioning. The only visible indicators are the power light and the blackened keyboard light.
