I'm trying to convert an ISO file to a specific partition on an internal hard drive. Previous tools haven't worked because they don't handle internal disks, caused errors, or imaged the whole disk instead of just the needed section. Could anyone suggest software that images a partition without scanning the entire disk?
On a Linux system you can achieve this, though success depends on the specific image. Bootable files usually contain the partition table and must be saved to an entire disk, making it impossible to place partitions within partitions.
Describing exactly what you aim to convey remains helpful even if the phrasing changes.
You need a tool or script to generate the Linux ISO file without a writing program.
Win32 Disk Imager could assist, though typically you prefer a removable storage like a flash drive or SD card. Most programs conceal internal drives to prevent accidental data loss by letting users choose the wrong one. You usually don’t provide complete details about what you need and want. If you have a Linux ISO and aim to install it, simply write the ISO onto a flash drive, boot from it, and use the installer to place it on your internal drive or partition.
