In fact, Windows keeps your drivers that were removed from your PC. I’ve noticed this firsthand—using an SSD in a laptop and then the same drive in a different PC, it kept the GPU from the laptop. I had to remove it. Regarding the other points, you’re right about the image mix-up. It would have been better if someone had provided clearer information instead of causing confusion.
