The game frequently stops when reaching full performance. I've attempted both boosting and reducing the clock speed, but it still crashes. Could you assist?

It just happened today with my 980ti. A power surge occurred on the motherboard when I tried to restart the PC. It seems a 7-year-old PSU would have lasted longer. After a fresh power supply worked fine initially, it shut down immediately under load. When the GPU was removed and reinserted, the system started again. The 1080ti worked without problems. I’m keeping the new PSU and haven’t seen any issues yet. Running benchmarks is safe now. Still hesitant to test the old PSU with the new card, fearing it might be dead. Recently updated drivers are in place, so I’m wondering what’s going on.
