Display issues persist even after replacing components.
I updated my motherboard and installed four new RAM sticks. Windows wouldn't boot initially, so I rearranged the sticks. It now starts properly. Despite occasional screen flickering, NTFS.SYS failures and BSOD corruption errors still occur. Any suggestions?
Check where your video cable is attached. If you have a graphics processor, consider connecting it to the motherboard instead. It might be a faulty GPU, cable, or monitor.
You're getting a sick build here, fam. It seems more like a GPU or monitor issue. Try plugging the GPU straight into the motherboard instead of using the raiser cable—it can mess up the signal easily. If that fixes things, go ahead and swap it out or adjust your setup. If not, consider a shorter raiser or move it closer to the motherboard. Also, test the monitor and HDMI/DP cables on another device to see if they work there. If they do, it might mean the GPU is dead, but let's try before giving up.
thank you, im trying a memory test now irs working fine, only when i boot into windows
Some GPU issues (including the bad raiser cable) may manifest only under significant load when booted into an OS and act otherwise normal in BIOS and stuff, but that also rules out the monitor issue because it would be bad even in BIOS from what I know. Ok, for a freak chance that this might be a driver issue, try fully removing the drivers using DDU and then doing a clean install, here's the guide: Take note of how your system behaves in safe mode, if you have the same behavior even there then it's likely a hardware issue, so either a bad raiser cable or even physical damage to your GPU.
I believe the issue was with my particular monitor not heating up. After running the Windows memtest, I returned to my PC and everything was working properly. It seems the monitor had been disconnected for some time and was too cold, causing flickering as it doesn't function well below a certain temperature. Everything is now fine—thank you for your assistance!
It's strange, I experienced cold start problems with an old monitor, but it just shut down briefly before coming back to life. I didn't expect such a sudden failure. Still, it's reassuring to know your GPU is functioning properly.
