Hello, welcome! I hope you're not finding this in English too hard. I’m really sorry about any mistakes or grammar issues—I’m still getting used to writing here. Also, I didn’t mean to break any forum rules, but I’ve checked the guidelines and looked for similar posts, yet I couldn’t find anything useful. Recently, I upgraded my gaming PC with a new CPU and motherboard to give it a boost. The components I bought are: a 5600X processor, a B450m Steel Legend motherboard, a Kingston Fury Renegade 500GB SSD, an i5 8500, a H370M DS3h chipset, GTX 1060 WindForce graphics card, an HD Seagate Ironwolf NAS 1TB, and two RAM sticks (HyperX Fury 8GB at 2400Mhz).

I’m new to building PCs, though. My dad always helped me with these projects—he even “supervised” my build. Sadly, he passed away a few years ago, so I’m on my own now. I took apart my old setup and installed the new parts, following the manual and some YouTube guides for the SSD. I kept everything simple during assembly and everything worked until startup.

Right now, my monitor doesn’t have an HDMI display, but the RGB lighting on the motherboard is fine. The CPU and GPU coolers aren’t spinning, though—I couldn’t fit my water cooler onto the new board, so I used the basic AMD one instead. For troubleshooting, I’ve tested the monitor and HDMI cable in different configurations, and they’re working. I also checked the CPU visually; the tiny spikes on the back looked normal.

At first, I thought it might be a BIOS compatibility issue because my motherboard is an older model, but the case says it supports AMD Gen 5. I suspect maybe a cabling problem, even though I double-checked everything carefully.

Thanks for your patience, and let me know if you need anything clarified!

Standard verification list, confirm the HDMI cable is connected to the GPU not the motherboard? All PSU power connections are secure? Have you reinserted the RAM and GPU? Is the B450 board running the most recent BIOS for 5000 series support? RGB illumination doesn’t always indicate full functionality, based on past experience. Additionally, this is why I avoid suggesting non-iGPU CPUs to new builders—it’s significantly more challenging to troubleshoot independently. Also, sorry for your disappointment.

Corsair VS500 PSU delivers 500 watts, but I wouldn't suggest using it with a new motherboard and system older than 3-5 years. Check for any beeps upon powering on and look for red lights on the motherboard itself. Test 1: take out the GPU to see if it behaves similarly. Test 2: remove the CPU to observe its reaction.
