Display issue after RAM upgrade
Details: Ryzen 3 2200G (original) MSI A320M-A Pro Max (2 slots) Avexir 2x4GB DDR4 2666mhz (AVD4UZ126661504G) Kingston Fury 2x8GB DDR4 2666mhz (KF426C16BB/8) listed in MSI's list. My friend installed Kingston Fury 2x8GB recently. No display appears on the screen, but all RGB indicators function correctly. We verified compatibility between RAM, motherboard, and CPU before purchase, even adjusting RAM speed to match the CPU's 2933MHz limit. The RAM slots operate normally. He experimented extensively: re-seating RAM, removing CMOS battery to reset BIOS, inserting only one stick, alternating 4GB and 8GB (system boots without 8GB but works fine with it), watching YouTube guides, but nothing resolved the issue except checking for BIOS updates—possibly a simple fix is available. We’re seeking advice on screenshots showing both 1x4GB and 2x4GB working properly (XMP reset). BIOS version 2019: 2x4GB with 1x4GB any configuration? Should we update the BIOS? Need clarification—could be a straightforward fix we overlooked. Updated July 15, 2023 by DeAdLyWaRrIoR07 redacted
MSI doesn't provide the BIOS version in the .inf file, but you can check the BIOS settings for details. Using a username with a personal name may need redaction if privacy is a concern.
We might need to contact a more skilled professional to upgrade the BIOS.
Check the official MSI support page for your motherboard model. The URL you shared appears to be correct, but confirm the version number matches your system.
It should work. The board serial aligns correctly and there are no extra revision pages as seen in the Gigabyte model.
