I experience frequent start menu issues where icons vanish or parts of my desktop change color whenever I click or drag. This happens repeatedly until I open Task Manager and restart explorer.exe, after which it occurs again within a few hours. The problem isn’t severe beyond the visual glitches or lockups, but it’s really bothersome. This is the recent Windows 10 installation on a new PC built in December, specifically using Windows 10 Education Edition. You can see the pink box effect here: https://i.imgur.com/aESVlVP.gifv

My NVIDIA setup is experiencing odd problems too, and a fresh install didn’t resolve them. Some apps like F@H seem to cause it. I should look for any Windows updates and try using DDU to clear the display driver, then reinstall the newest version from NVIDIA’s site.

I couldn't pinpoint the exact cause due to its unpredictable nature. The only consistent pattern is launching an admin-only program, which triggers the authorizing window and makes my entire desktop turn pink.

I attempted to use DDU but the desktop or icons remain black instead of turning pink.
