Display a black screen with a spinning cursor during initialization.
When I power up my PC, I see a black screen with a spinning cursor. I’ve restarted it many times—over twenty—and changed updates repeatedly without fixing anything. I went through uninstalling the newest updates and tried system restore, but that didn’t help. Safe mode works, though I get a blue screen when I try to enter BIOS. I’m not sure what to do next. I downloaded the latest NVIDIA driver the night before, and it worked fine then, but now my computer won’t start.
I faced an issue in 2024 after installing Windows 11 LTSC. Five days later, while checking my school email, I went to help my mom the same day. Suddenly, a bluescreen appeared on my main PC. I was worried about losing my files and tried booting it again, noticing the error message "ndis.sys" in the "What failed:" section. After searching, I found it was related to a Wi-Fi driver problem. I attempted a reset, but it reported "There was a problem resetting your PC." I tried various solutions, including using Microsoft support on my tablet, but nothing worked. Eventually, I had to reinstall Windows from a laptop.
Ensure your boot device is listed as the first one, especially if you installed Windows on another drive. Check the boot type—whether it's Normal BIOS or UEFI—and verify it matches what you see on the disk. If using a Windows USB installer, try booting from that to see if the issue persists. A corrupted file might be the cause; the repair process should not damage your data. Please share your PC specifications so we can assist further. Mobo makes modles, CPU, RAM, and memory are noted. I used a bootable USB with Windows 11, but it only improves a few percent before restarting. The blue screen appears saying "Automatic Repair," and I’m offered to restart or go to advanced options. It repeatedly restarts to the same blue screen with a stop code of bad_system_config_info. No matter what I do—reset, safe mode, anything—I keep getting stuck on that screen.
