Display a black screen upon launching web applications.
Hi there, I’ve faced a peculiar problem with the Amazon Prime Video web app. As soon as I launch it, the screen turns completely black right after loading. The only solution I’ve tried is disconnecting the DisplayPort cable from the GPU and reconnecting it. This fix doesn’t work when I use the monitor side instead. I also noticed the same issue with Spotify’s web version, though it happened only once during hundreds of sessions. Interestingly, the Spotify desktop app caused a black screen in one instance as well. So far, only these two apps seem to trigger this problem. I’ve been using the same monitor model ‘ROG Swift PG27AQDM’ with my old PC, and I haven’t experienced anything similar before. Anyone else have encountered this, or do you know what might be behind it? Looking forward to your thoughts!
It might stem from a copy protection method such as HDCP. If the system identifies an attempt to copy or rebroadcast protected content, it will block the output. Do you have a capture card or are you employing screen recording or sharing tools?
Discord appears to be active in the background, but that’s about it. I haven’t streamed on Discord recently, and I usually run only a few programs. There’s a PCIe USB 3.0 hub in my system—could it be mistaken for a recording device?
