System operation mainly relies on Windows Search & Drive Indexing, occasionally using the Pagefile. For testing purposes, I would disable all of these features. You'll still be able to search for files, though Dump Files from the Pagefile will be unavailable. Superfetch in Services can also be turned off if desired. Besides that, caching internet applications within the browser might be contributing to the issue. You can restrict it in your browser settings. Clear the cache and remove temporary files.
