Disk Management 101 Help
Disk Management 101 Help
Hey there, I’m trying to understand what Disk Management does for my C drive. So far I’ve only grasped a little bit. Can you tell me if expanding the Recovery Image on my D drive or creating a Healthy Recovery Partition on my J drive is a good idea? Any advice would be great. Also, some general info about disk management would be helpful. Thanks!
Avoid altering any of those sections—they’re essential. The RE Tools area is the recovery setup to reset your PC to its original state, the EFI section holds the Windows Boot Loader, the C drive stores your primary data, the 505mb partition and J drive hold the recovery files, while the D drive contains the actual recovery image for restoration. If you remove the recovery space, you can delete these partitions but will lose access to the built-in recovery options. The best choice would be a clean install from an MS image, which means you’ll have to abandon all preinstalled software.
