Hi, earlier I installed a significant upgrade with new RAM and CPU. Getting Windows 11 set up was tough because it kept showing BSODs and installation failures, even after formatting the USB and re-downloading several times. Once it finally worked, I encountered disk errors and corrupt files in Steam, even after clearing the cache and redownloading. It only ran properly on a tiny ~300MB Steam file, but games like Destiny 2 and CS:GO still trigger these issues. I’ve tried moving the game to another drive, which also failed—Windows detected it correctly but crashed again when launching from outside Steam, citing missing files. Any advice would be helpful.

Begin with the fundamentals: verify all cables are securely connected, particularly data cables and RAM, ensuring they’re properly seated. Perform a memory test using tools like Memtest86 to rule out RAM problems. Switch power and data cables for the affected drive or, if it’s an M.2 device, remove and reinsert it. Utilize software such as HDSentinal to inspect disks for issues—many offer free trials or open-source options. Persistent errors may indicate faulty SATA or M.2 ports; try testing the disks on another machine. Consider updating your BIOS, checking for relevant updates that address disk or IO performance stability.

It might indicate a faulty RAM module, a defective RAM slot, or a malfunctioning CPU memory controller. The uneven CPU mounting pressure could also lead to poor contact on memory pins. Test each RAM module individually in its slot to identify problematic slots or modules. Clean the RAM slots thoroughly—tiny debris can disrupt operation. Also, inspect the CPU mounting pressure and consider reseating the cooler.

I didn't turn it off, but I did try restarting it and it worked fine. Reinstalling Windows might be an option if the issues persist, but it's not necessary unless you're still experiencing problems.

You don’t think a fresh installation is necessary if everything appears functional, perhaps observe the performance over a short period.
