I'm struggling with this simple request. I previously handled it successfully. I made a clone of the OS disk using Minipartition, but now the drive isn't being recognized. After some troubleshooting and realizing the original disk wasn't detected, I accidentally set it as the master boot record. Now the files aren't showing up. Do you think I can revert the changes with the original disk, or is there a way to make the SSD appear as an OS disk using a boot file?

Connect the SSD to a PC via a SATA to USB adapter and proceed with these steps: 1. Open the command prompt with admin privileges (cmd) 2. Run diskpart 3. List disks 4. Choose the appropriate disk (X = SSD number) 5. Clean the selection Then Windows should install normally.

This action will erase all data from the SSD.

Make a copy of your friend’s data on a different storage device before proceeding. You’ll have to reinstall the programs, though it’s generally not a major issue.

This requires emails, configurations, and several programs he owns a license for. I’m only considering this as a final option. I’m attempting to restore the partitions using easeUS partition. I had to purchase a license.

Start by backing up his files immediately. The easiest method involves using tools such as EaseUS or MiniTool to attempt recovery of the partition. However, you may need to purchase a license. Check if the free version can recover partitions, as it might not be sufficient.

You're right, I purchased the license which should have unlocked that feature. Hopefully it can be restored. I also created a backup while I was waiting.

Here’s a revised version of your text:

I wanted to share an update. I thought the SSD had a backup of the HDD, but it turned out to be incorrect—it copied the wrong drive instead. Thankfully, after staying up all night (and still awake), I managed to restore the OS on the HDD. I was able to recover all the data, though it took hours to rebuild the MTR. This experience is something I definitely don’t want to repeat, but now that I know the fix, I’ll never face it again. I’m currently trying to clone once more, using software with a stronger reputation. I’m exhausted, frustrated, but also excited that I kept going.
