Disk cannot clean an HDD configured as a crash dump storage device
You need to remove a volume from a secondary hard drive even though it's empty. The Disk Management tool shows the delete button as grayed out, and running DiskPart clean triggers an error about not being allowed to clean certain disks. This happens because the disk is flagged as both a pagefile and crashdump disk. You’ll have to disable those features and then reset the drive properly.
Sure, I can try to remove it and create a fresh simple volume in the disk manager.
Unmount refers to the process of removing a device or resource from a system so it can be safely taken out.
It's understandable, I've felt the same. The delete option is hidden, and changing the letter keeps triggering an error about incorrect parameters. Microsoft suggested using recovery mode to clean the disk since protection isn't enabled yet. I'll give it a shot and let you know what happens.
