You have the 8.1 trial version and have seven days left. You plan to move your Windows installation to a second hard drive, using the first one for other files. You're wondering if you need to remove Windows from the first drive before transferring it, especially since the first drive is nearly full and only has 260GB left.

You can remove Windows completely while preserving your files on another drive. You can also install Windows on a different drive and switch it to use the second drive for the operating system.
