The majority come from The Following DLC, with the exception of the initial one, the Sewer Escape from the Extraction mission.

Have you tried the second part yet, DYING LIGHT 2: Stay Human? I'm eager to get this one, but I've learned that this time we don't have weapons or firearms to defeat the zombies. The game shifts more towards close combat, with most battles relying on melee weapons. Still, according to the wiki, long-range items like crossbows, shotguns, and spears are also available, though they might be difficult to obtain.

From my understanding, there aren't ballistic firearms in the traditional sense, but there are various types of bows and a good crossbow. Throwing knives and spears are also available. They seem to have phased out pistols, assault rifles, and shotguns, although I haven't tried the shotgun during my last playthrough of The Following. My main concern with Dying Light 2 has been that missions can feel hollow based on the choices made, which is why I'm hoping for a better value.

I'm fine with Bows or any crossbow version, but unfortunately no ballistic weapons, so I'm holding back on trying this game. It's unclear how the missions will be this time, though. I believe Dying Light 1 remains superior to this sequel, in my opinion.

I limited my use of the assault rifle to Dying Light 1, using it solely against humans equipped with them. They can also assist in removing helmets from Demolishers, though I chose the crossbow when volatile situations arose. I avoided searching for silenced weapons, as they are uncommon.

When it comes to loud firearms, they offer little advantage except when multiple enemies are firing at you with assault rifles, particularly since they can carry volatile substances. Even in Dying Light 1, most enemies killed are zombies rather than humans.

Firearms also deplete their ammunition, and in Dying Light 1 this meant either engaging more humans with weapons and hoping for sufficient ammo, or seeking out locations with stockpiles—typically only during missions where carrying weapons is necessary due to the presence of such enemies.

Yeah, the majority of enemies are zombies. Very few human foes mean any loud firearm would definitely draw them out. Like in the first game, zombies slow down when it's sunny but get more aggressive and hostile at night. I wish there was a silenced weapon attachment for them. Even in Dying Light 2, most enemies are still zombies. I think there are no real human threats, that's my take. The parkour mechanics and skills in DY 2 have been greatly improved.

As discussed before, some people claim silenced weapons exist in the first game, but I haven’t needed to search for or use them. Few humans carry assault rifles during the early stages. When they appear, they usually deal with screaming climbers and then start shooting. I tend to stay up high and eliminate them one by one using my bow or crossbow, aiming for headshots.

Not all zombies are slow. The ones that scream and react strongly to gunfire or explosions always show up in groups of three when they’re alerted. They’re fast and the only ones I usually worry about in Dying Light 1. The situations I faced often involved those explosive devices that appeared whenever I scavenged.

My usual method for handling the quick ones was to jump onto a van as soon as I heard them scream, then kick them in the head while they climbed up. This kills them instantly if you have the Stomp skill. It can be challenging to keep track of their climbing direction, especially since the game often shifts your view unexpectedly after each stomp—there’s no clear reason for that.
