Affordable keys aren't trustworthy. If they were, the high-priced keys on Microsoft’s site wouldn’t exist. Different resale platforms can get keys through various means—breaking service rules, buying from old devices, stealing card info, etc. It’s up to you to judge what’s acceptable. I’ve bought keys from eBay and felt safe thanks to their buyer protection, and sticking to reputable sellers helps. I’ve also used kinguin successfully, as have others I know. I once used a Windows 7 PC with a key from a friend before, and it worked fine. I think I’ve also used Best Buy, though not the cheapest option.

The situation varies with each seller, or they might have obtained the keys through various approaches. It's hard to predict exactly how they secure the keys. To be certain a key is genuine, you must obtain it directly from Microsoft.

PayPal is the recommended option if issues arise. Otherwise, proceed with caution and verify the seller's credibility. For safer transactions, consider using G2A as suggested.

It’s just a small amount of money, so based on what you’re suggesting, I’ll probably buy it and test it out. If it doesn’t work, I can easily return it, and even if it does, the cost is minimal—around three dollars or less. Not a lot of waste at all.

Approximately 99.99% of the time, a bargain that seems too attractive is actually an overstatement.

A genuine reseller key costs about 20$. I purchased many keys from Kinguin without any problems.

I’m not feeling confident, though I’ve seen others rely on these codes. There are no problems, but don’t count on Microsoft helping you—these are intended for OEM makers who provide their own assistance.

That’s completely unrealistic. The correct rates are $90 for Home OEM, $120 for Pro OEM, $150 for Home retail, and $200 for Pro retail. Any lower suggests a problem.
