Discussion about mods for Skyrim in SE
Now, i dont know about you, but i am rather excited for Skyrim SE (its a good reason to go back and play again), however, and i know there are multiple questions on this but i cant seem to find an answer for this one. Will Skyrim Mods that didint require SKSE, work on Skyrim SE? (ive read that old mods should work, but it did not specify which ones, i would assume old mods without SKSE should be fine, but im still asking anyway). Any advice for modding Skyrim SE or any help would be appreciated.
Only minor adjustments were made to textures and filters; the core functionality remains unchanged. The system operates smoothly, though I still favor the vanilla edition over this one.
The site states that SkyUI requires SKSE to function, but SKSE is not available yet.
It's actually the Fallout 4 engine version, with clear updates like rain and snow no longer passing through roofs without mods. The water now behaves realistically, moving in all directions instead of just one, regardless of obstacles. Behind the scenes, it's a 64-bit application, allowing it to use more memory and stay stable, which means better mod support is possible. The details continue to expand.
Most updates may fail because many require package files to store all textures and meshes (BSA files), which don't function in the latest version. Even uncompressed files not packaged aren't advised unless you have extremely powerful hardware, since the file format can cause performance problems. A lot of mods are already available through the nexus (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/), as many developers received the game early from Bethesda, allowing them to create complex ones like Frostfall or Wet and Cold with partial versions. These still retain some menus from SKSE, but they operate as intended in-game using the old system files and spellbooks.
Sure, but it feels much slower compared to the original Skyrim for about 99% of players. I didn’t really notice the 'smoothness' added in version 4. It did change things, but I’m not sure if it’s a real improvement. Let’s wait for some updates and see what happens then.
Yes, the same differences apply between dx9 32bit and dx11 64bit versions. Avoid using original Skyrim mesh nif files for the special edition; modify them to maintain performance. Textures generally work across versions except for TGA file support, which may be affected. Check the referenced guide for more details.
However, there was nothing: @Made In Canada even labeled you as the best answer when your statement was entirely incorrect. You should have expressed your concerns directly to the original poster rather than feigning ignorance about the game's details, since the engine in question is completely inaccurate.
