Discussion about HDMI cables
Hello everyone, I'm seeking advice on upgrading my setup. To improve spacing in my new office, I need a 25' to 30' HDMI cable supporting HDMI 2.1. Any suggestions for reliable brands that can manage that length? Also, I want the cable to stay secure at the connection point even if the monitor shifts.
Opt for an HDMI extender. I personally use an HDMI to RJ5 adapter and have achieved success with distances up to 25 feet. The product I rely on is an HDMI to RJ45 Ethernet Network Converter with two ports. You can purchase these on Amazon. Options include powered and unpowered models. For best results, opt for CAT 6 cables since interference tends to occur with 5e signals.
HDMI 2.1 offers a 48 Gb/s speed, but it doesn’t perform well with a standard Cat 6 cable. The distance is also limited; for better results, use an optical HDMI 2.1 cable.
It's really challenging to get a signal over 10 feet without active repeating. But your idea of using optical cables is a great one!
