That's typical. Since I often work with modems, I suggest placing it in a cool, well-ventilated space to breathe. A small fan might help too.

It's an old setup, but it doesn't look very impressive: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zdjdaarj5qer16...5.JPG?dl=0 It only has a limited space for small fans, but they're too noisy for my room.
