Discussing YouTube autoplay ideas and their implications.
My view: It works okay for personal use, but it bothers me at school due to lack of understanding and indifference. Teachers often open the YT link from their slides, play the video in a stock player without fullscreen, adjust the volume to peak or too quiet, close the browser window, return to the presentation, and then become confused when another unrelated video starts.
They really should have set it to exit automatically so the issue @ Tedster wouldn't continue. Otherwise, I'm fine with it.
It's often hard to remember to switch it off after a while. Thanks to turnips, I wouldn't be in such a spot.
YouTube’s AutoPlay function works well for specific types of media, such as music. It effectively plays related videos automatically. There are a few issues that can arise, especially with larger setups. For instance, I left AutoPlay active while playing League of Legends and listened to the Rocky soundtrack. First Burning Heart, then Eye of the Tiger, followed by another Survivor track, and eventually an entire album. This shifted from a balanced mix to just one album. Later, it continued attempting to auto-play full albums, jumping to the next 15 tracks which were all albums. The idea has merit and can be useful in certain situations. Still, I think it’s more practical to enable it rather than disable it.
