Once passionate about gaming, I focused on a few select titles over the past five to ten years. I’m aiming to revisit the highlights I missed. Which game stands out as a must-play each year? I’ll skip any major AAA releases and suggest one per calendar year. What experiences defined your favorite games during that time?

Secure Destiny 2 before the 18th. The regular game is available for free. Witcher 3 offers great enjoyment.

The collection is extensive. Bioshock series, Dishonored lineup, Amnesia Dark Descent, Far Cry universe, Assassins Creed but mainly Origins and Odyssey post-Unity and Syndicate were challenging. Metro 2033, Mirror's Edge, Splinter Cell mostly Conviction and Blacklist. The Tomb Raider reboot from 2013, The Witcher 3—though I could keep talking about it—but really it's about discovering story-rich titles you can truly lose yourself in—I’ll mention just ONE game you definitely shouldn’t pick: Final Fantasy XV. It’s a massive letdown.

I'm also really into Planet Coaster if you're into that kind of thing.

Top picks include Portal/Portal 2, one of the greatest narratives and characters ever made. BioShock Infinite, Night Shift, and Witcher 3 stand out with rich stories and memorable moments. Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild offers a challenging portal experience and unique gameplay. For RPG fans, BioShock 1/2 delivers great atmosphere and solid mechanics, while Binding of Isaac shines with its creative design and power-ups. Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 or Planet Coaster provide retro-style fun without pixelated graphics. Smash Bros. Melee works well on GameCube emulators.

Realize each title impacted me at different points; none are perfect now, but they were the early highlights that remain with me. My top picks include: Bioshock 1 and Infinite (the ending was great), Far Cry 3 (start with 4 and up if you haven’t tried it yet), ES V:Skyrim (it worked well back in 2011), Battlefield 3 & 4 (for action fans), Bad Company 2 (fun multiplayer, cheap on Steam), Mark of the Ninja Assassin's Creed 2, Brotherhood, 3, 4, Unity, Odyssey (though it took time), Portal 2 (and 1 if you enjoy the story), The Witcher 3 (still worth a try), Tomb Raider 2013, and Mirror's Edge. Everyone suggests The Witcher 3—play your way!
