You can simply erase the existing drive and install Windows on the new SSD. Transfer your data via an external storage device afterward.

I prefer a streamlined Windows setup without leftover files or confusing drivers. There were times with an OEM version that felt odd when switching motherboards, which might be a personal preference. A fresh install gives me a cleaner system.

the only possible concern is the drivers i don’t notice any problems with data, but sure a backup is always advised... plus, if you’re running 1tb only games, you might not need to reinstall everything.

If the SSD holds only information you don’t require, avoid erasing it—just set up Windows on the SSD and connect the HDD afterward.
