You just hand over the installation disk and restart the system. At that point, you'll create a profile and handle any other setup steps. Regarding drivers, I'm not sure how they work in this situation.

I attempted to test it, but she has limited knowledge of computers. Windows updates aren’t picking up every driver, which is strange since it’s a Surface 3 Pro.

Windows updates won’t collect every driver automatically. You need to open Device Manager, download files yourself, and configure the system properly. Are you using version 1809 or 1803?
