Discussing URL filtering techniques
Discussing URL filtering techniques
I’m seeking guidance on managing individual YouTube videos for my 7-year-old with autism. While YouTube has been beneficial for his learning, certain videos can be too overwhelming. I’m looking for ways to filter out specific content without removing the platform entirely. I’ve tried using Eero routers and various filtering tools like Pi-Hole, Squid, and Privoxy, but they only work at a domain level. I’m not looking for general parenting advice—just practical solutions for blocking individual videos or URLs.
The session ID is unique each time, making it hard to include in a fixed block. You might also need to prevent long URLs like YouTube links unless using the official site. It’s unlikely to work with mobile or tablet apps since they connect directly to YouTube instead of using URLs. You’d likely have to use YouTube Kids for that.
