Hey everyone, I'm checking if combining two pairs or RAM sticks is feasible. I'm using Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB at 3200MHz, and I have a single 8GB stick from Ballistix rated at 2400MHz. I'm curious about mixing them to boost memory capacity since I need more space.

Avoid it; it's likely to fail

I've watched Linus's video and he mentioned it would function

It should likely function, though you may face a maximum of 2400mhz for all the RAM.

If it doesn't work then the RAM is faulty, there's no reason it shouldn't work.

previously, with the older configuration, everything functioned smoothly, so I think they still do that way.

You possess two 8GB drives and wish to add another one. It should function, though adjustments to voltage may be necessary. Your RAM will likely stop operating in dual-channel mode.

It remained in multichannel mode, which wasn't too concerning. It's unlikely the voltage requires adjustment unless the RAM is installed without XMP or the AMD equivalent.

it wouldn't be using dual channel because the system is already set up with only one x8 stick on channels A1 and A2, and you're planning to add a single stick to channel B1. Your motherboard supports four RAM slots, but you're only installing one stick there.
