I need to switch to a Sapphire GPRO X080 10GB instead of my GTX 1060 3GB. My motherboard is an Asus Z87-K (PCIe 3.0), and my CPU is an i7-4770K. Would connecting my monitor via DVI cause significant lag in games? I assume it would use the slower PCIe 3? And would that even be compatible with this motherboard? How would a video output connect from the mining GPU to the iGPU?

If you link your display through the DVI port on the motherboard, it would only stress the integrated graphics.
A video output from that mining GPU to the iGPU wouldn't work.

The setup supports running iGPU alongside Sapphire at the same time, though the iGPU lacks the capability to handle modern games and video output will never transition from that mining GPU to iGPU.
I don’t think this will function, even though laptops handle it regularly, so it isn’t really possible on desktop systems. You might attempt it using your existing GPU—connect the monitor to the IGPU port and configure an application to utilize the 1060 for rendering in the NVidia control panel or similar software. Check if it works, though it’s unlikely.
This has been a configuration in standard Windows environments since the release of Windows 10 approximately ten years ago... cease emphasizing to users that it is exclusive to laptops. The main concern remains whether the mining card will have compatible drivers that allow it to appear in the Windows settings.
I will attempt the suggestions you mentioned. Obtaining that sapphire mining card would mean placing an order from over 5000 km away, which would require some time to discuss with the seller.
I've watched a YouTube video about this card where someone claimed it performs poorly on Windows 11 but works smoothly on Windows 10. Adjustments and special drivers are necessary for NVIDIA mining cards, whereas this card might only need a standard BIOS from an RX 6700, which could already be included on the card I want. Then it would use a regular driver.
I can't play certain games on 1063 due to insufficient VRAM, and they keep crashing even at the lowest settings and resolutions under 1080p.
