This board includes slots for two M.2 drives—one at the front with a fan above it, and another at the back. I’m using a Samsung 1TB 980 Pro for the boot drive and possibly adding a game or two. I’ve been learning about heat and wondering whether I need a separate heatsink for the drive, or if it will still fit properly. Anyone who owns this board has any experience with heat issues for M.2 drives? Also, as a note, are both PCIe 4 slots on this board? Thanks for your advice, Brian.
There shouldn't be an issue with that m.2 ssd just make sure there is some kind of thermal medium either from the board or on the ssd to interface heat to the cooler included. I don't think there have been heat issues, but with extended gaming sessions and quick load times on modern games it can heat up a m.2 ssd.
