Discussing the connection between CPU and GPU coolers.
I understand this might seem quite basic, but given the worries about heat management, why not remove the CPU and attach a cooler straight to the chip? This idea could also apply to the GPU.
Occasionally individuals do this, but it demands custom coolers because the height changes. Usually, GPUs already have the die visible, eliminating the need for additional cooling solutions.
Previously CPUs lacked protective covers, so users would damage the chip or connectors. The covers only slightly affect heat retention, making them a worthwhile trade-off. For optimal cooling, take off the lid completely.
GPU designs are similar, and the old AMD Athlon had the same issue. It was typical to cut into the edges of the chip if you weren't careful while installing the cooler. (AMD applied small foam dots on the corners, but it had no effect) https://happytrees.org/main-images/chip-...n-CPU).jpg
