Discussing Steam's approach to transferring games from SSD to HD
Steam supports moving games between storage options without damaging files. You can keep your games on the SSD for quick access and switch them to the HD when needed, ensuring smooth performance and data integrity.
I handle this regularly using three 120GB SSDs and a 1TB HDD. Just assign one SteamLibrary per storage type (one on each drive) and then copy everything over. I haven’t experienced any file corruption. All your saves remain secure in the Documents folder, either under My Games or within the game directory itself.
Steam recently supports using several drives at once. I wasn't aware of this feature. How do game files actually move across the drives?
