I need to figure out how to set up a second Steam account using family sharing on my PC. I'm trying to play GTA 5 with two people but haven't found anyone else who plays it. The instructions I found online seem focused on console versions, not PC-to-PC transfers. When I tried to launch the game with another account, it asked for a social club activation code. How can I resolve this issue?

The Steam family system prevents simultaneous play between users. A special activation code is required for the social club, which must not be used on other accounts or Steam profiles. I attempted this recently and ended up having to log into my cousin's club to access it.

Playing GTA V via Steam Family Sharing isn't possible due to the ongoing Social Club DRM. I've experienced this myself earlier [The Witcher 3, on the other hand, functions perfectly for sharing].

To enjoy GTA:V you need a Rockstar account with the game key. Your Rockstar account must be connected to a permanent Steam account. When playing, you require a Steam account linked to that Rockstar one that holds the game key. I recently went through all this a few days ago because a friend got the game and we set everything up for me. The best way I found was logging in with his Steam account first, then using his Rockstar account inside the game. This lets me play without issues, even when offline, but I can’t use my own accounts since I created a Rockstar one and double-checked the linking process.
