My laptop stopped working about two years ago but it’s still in my possession. It came with Windows 7 installed. In the near future I might be assembling a new computer, could I possibly transfer that Windows 7 installation onto a fresh machine and then upgrade to Windows 10? (It has Windows 7 Home Premium.) I don’t have much extra cash for a full Windows install, and right now I’m sticking with Windows 10 TPM for my regular use.
Do you have the laptop left? If yes, look for a small sticker with the key and then you can download an .iso for home prem 64bit without any issues.
Check prior purchase details to determine if contacting Microsoft support is possible for migration assistance, or if you're facing challenges without options.
I secured it in a contest almost four years back, so I’ll take a glance if the sticker still holds, #hope
