Discussing RAM upgrades
To perform a RAM test, you can use software like MemTest86 or Windows Memory Diagnostic. For IMC, it likely stands for Integrated Circuits Manufacturer, which refers to the chip design team behind the processor. Since you're new, start with basic tools and follow simple guides from forums.
IMC stands for Integrated Memory Controller. It is a component of the system on chip (SOC) on the processor that connects directly to the RAM. You can find more info here: memtest https://hcidesign.com/memtest/. Running it multiple times might lead to a blue screen after some time, especially if you leave it running overnight. I tried watching it for about 15 minutes initially and then left it running until morning to check its status.
Sure, I'll make sure to run it tomorrow since I need to sleep. Thanks! Have a great day.
Apologies for the delayed response; a few issues popped up. I changed the RAM to 2933Mhz/1.3V after running a memtest, which showed errors. I increased the voltage to 1.4 and still had errors, so I switched to auto-voltage. It stopped showing errors after 10 hours of testing. Thanks. I’m still thinking about whether the higher-end Corsair set is worth it. Thanks again and sorry for the late reply.
Sorry to hear that. You’ve already received the kit but can’t afford another one right now. I’m trying to figure out which model to get when you have the funds. Thanks for checking Memory Express!
If you lack funds for replacement components, I’d still process a return of the CPU. AMD covers shipping costs regardless of direction. It’s better to have faulty equipment than to endure issues later.
Requesting product authorization involves sending a component for repair or replacement while it's covered under warranty. AMD CPUs come with a three-year warranty. For more details, you can access the RMA information here: https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/warran...n/rma-form
