Discussing RAM selection and timing requirements
Hi everyone! I'm considering purchasing two 2x16GB RAM sticks and have to pick between two options: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro (2x16GB) and Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB (2x16GB). Both offer 3200Mhz speeds and similar timings with DOCP enabled. I'm looking for the most affordable set that meets these specs. Since they're nearly identical in timing, should I go with one or wait for a better deal? My motherboard is an Asus X470 Crosshair VII Hero. Thanks! Rodrigo
Thank you for your quick response. It really doesn’t affect my choice now. Final thought—should I opt for something solid or wait for an upgrade?
I can't criticize them, but I also can't compliment them. Big companies like Corsair and G.skill often release many pre-packaged versions, making it hard to find parts that really boost performance. Of course you might be in the "XMP group" who skip manual tuning, which could change things. A 3600MHz memory offers advantages, even though CL18 is similar in latency but has higher bandwidth and a bit more actual delay from faster clock matching than 3200MHz CL16.
