Hi everyone, I'm planning to upgrade my gaming rig from an F4-2400C15S to a higher capacity setup. I'm considering 2x8GB RAM modules at the same speed. I noticed someone listing a used F4-2400C17S with similar specs. Will combining these models work on my system? My current setup includes an i5-8400, Gigabyte D360 MDP, Zotac 1060, and 6GB RAM.

It generally works, though certainty isn't assured. Remember that both devices will operate at identical frequencies and timing patterns (such as the lowest common frequency and highest common latency).

It refers to the access duration. Similar to a reply time—15-15-15-35 means RAM reacts in 15 nanoseconds for each operation, while 17-17-17 takes 17 nanoseconds. This results in slightly longer response times.
