After several months of anticipation, all components arrived for my AMD build! The AMD 5900x with Asus Crosshair VIII Dark Hero 4x8Gig G.Skill Trident Neo Z DDR4 3600 is ready. I’m already enjoying the performance versus my old Intel i5 2500K, which I’ve owned for nearly a decade. My next priority is to overclock the RAM, and once that’s done, I’ll consider boosting the CPU as well. Based on what I’ve learned, these new chips prefer a 1:1 memory clock to Infinity Fabric speed for optimal results. I adjusted the memory frequency to DDR4-3600MHz and set the FCLK to 1800MHz. Then I raised the DRAM voltage to 1.45 volts as recommended. Finally, I configured the timings to match the manufacturer’s guidelines (CL14 14-15-15-35). Everything boots into Windows without issues, and CPU-Z reports a memory ratio of 3:54. Could you help me understand any mistakes in my settings or suggest steps to achieve the ideal 1:1 ratio? That's acceptable as long as the core stays at 1800. The 3:54 serves as the multiplier for RAM to hit that number, which is 54 divided by 3. You might want to adjust the TRC to 50 instead of 85; these settings can handle at least 3733 cycles. Increasing it to around 1.48V would be fine, and anything below 1.5V won't make a big difference. It's also worth testing 14 14 14 32 TRC at 50% over 24 TRFC with a 280 output.
