Discussing RAM
I'm checking if upgrading from 8GB to 16GB RAM will cause any issues. I own the older HyperX DDR4 model (C18, 1.2V, 3200MHz) and want to know if pairing it with 8GB of their newest C16 RAM at 1.35V is safe. Should I consider a 1.2V option instead, since the original prices are higher? Anyone else with a Ryzen 5 3600 would appreciate this?
The main concern is the cost of getting a full 16GB RAM package. I was checking if my current RAM could work with others. Here’s the PC part picker link you provided: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/XvyV3C/...x432c18fb2. It runs at 1.2V, so I’m wondering if upgrading to 1.35V RAM would be fine for now. I just need 16GB of 3200MHz RAM before considering high-end options like the Corsair Dominator Plats or HyperX Preadtor 32GB.
The 1.2V rating applies to configurations prior to XMP activation, which operates within the 2133MHz to 2666MHz range. Additional voltage remains unaffected.
Consider the type and size of the RAM modules you're adding. Ensure they match your system's requirements and compatibility standards.
You're using a 3200MHz kit with HyperX RAM, but you're curious about switching to 1.35V RAM—will it still function properly? It depends on the exact specs of the new RAM and your system's compatibility. Always check the manufacturer guidelines before making changes.
