Hello! I have a question about possible slowdowns in my PC. It seems to lag when playing games or even opening File Explorer. I’ve also noticed the system gets very hot, especially the CPU. Here are my specs: Windows 11 Professional (x64), ASUS TUF GAMING B560-PLUS WIFI, BIOS 0820, two 16GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM, Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro, Intel Core i7-11700KF, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070, NVME Samsung SSD 980 Pro (1TB), and I’m not sure about the power supply. Are there any bottlenecks or is this normal for performance? Thanks!

You detect overheating by checking the CPU temperature and seeing if it’s rising. You have a cooling solution in place, and you can monitor the current temperature readings. When overheating occurs, the clock speed typically decreases to protect the processor.

My computer stops working and shows a warning about overheating the CPU. I have to wait until it restarts. I don’t know which cooler I use, but it’s an air type. Since I’m not familiar with PC specs, I’m unsure about the clock speeds.

Monitor your temps with tools like HWMonitor, OpenHardwareMonitor, or CoreTemp. Check the cooler—maybe it's dusty with old paste or a case with bad airflow. The stock Intel cooler could be the answer. Take a few photos for reference.

It seems the CPU fan is either off, disconnected, or not working. I recommend swapping it out with a fresh one.

The summary from HWinFO64 is unclear about the temperature details. It mentions the cooler isn't an Intel stock cooler and suggests it might be a hardware bottleneck issue. The user believes replacing it with a better one could help, and they've attached an image of their PC for reference.

Begin HWInfo64 in sensors-only mode, where you can view the CPU temperature and power usage together with additional details about your hardware.

I've included a screenshot showing the CPU and GPU temperatures along with power usage. I'm still trying to grasp what all this means. Just a quick note that I'm not using my PC for any games or tasks at the moment.

The number 60 is quite high for idle performance. The photos inside your case aren't visible to me since I don’t have the software, and I’m using a work PC. You might want to consider upgrading your cooler or repasting it, depending on what you have.
