I don’t own GTA V, but a friend had it and it wasn’t running. When he tried to start it and log in, he received error code 1005. It seems the game couldn’t locate its installation. That issue has been resolved now…

You're having trouble with the first installation step of Microsoft VC Redist Package. It's been trying a few times and you've already downloaded it twice. Check if your system meets the requirements, try restarting your PC, or look for alternative installation methods.

He might need to reinstall the game, as repeatedly crashing could indicate a download issue.

The social application was stored on his C: drive, and the game was running on his G: drive. He moved the GTA V file to its standard installation location, resolving the issue. Now everything resides on his C: drive, though that might be a problem for others who aren't sure how to locate the game's installation.
