I recall in the past you could explore a desert and discover a dungeon right above ground, is that still feasible? Additionally, if there have been any significant updates to structure generation lately, please inform me as I’m using the most recent version and haven’t played since 1.6 (lmao).
Mojang provides a changelog for various updates and releases, which you can explore publicly. I haven't engaged much with Minecraft versions after 1.7.10, especially since around 1.5 or 1.6. I've stayed on 1.2.5 for a long time, and the Tekkit Classic modpack is still my top choice.
It's achievable though much less common in newer versions because of adjustments in cave spawn mechanics.
