You're unsure about the legality of playing old game ROMs. It depends on the country and the specific game. In many places, using outdated ROMs for older consoles like NES or SNES can be considered copyright infringement unless you have permission. There are some legal ways to obtain ROMs, such as through licensed re-releases, archival projects, or purchasing them from authorized sellers. Always check local laws and respect intellectual property rights.
it's not illegal if nobody owns the rights to it. or if the license to distribute was never renewed. but then shit hit the fan This is why most ROMs are legal up until nintendo started re-licensing the shit out of them.
You can verify renewal status by contacting the provider directly or checking your account details for renewal confirmation.
What titles aren't claimed? It doesn't really matter—I steal all of them. Haha!
its illegal to download/emulate them, but theres a very odd grey zone. in some places you're theoretically allowed to make a copy for personal usage. so if you pull that trough (almost pulling TPB-style loopholes here...) my iso i pulled from my GTA vice city stories disk isnt illegal, but i am not allowed to emulate it.
