Hi everyone! I'm wondering if it's feasible to combine four RAM sticks, each in a 16GB pair, totaling 32GB. The issue is they offer two different speeds: one at 3200 MHz and another at 3600 MHz. Can I mix them together? Would that improve performance, or am I overcomplicating things because I might need more RAM for VR? Also, I have a Ryzen 5 5600X and an RTX 3060.
varied RAM rates aren't a big deal because the system will choose the slower option. Focus on keeping the same CAS latency and voltage levels.
Place each pair of sticks together in matching slots. The system will process all sticks at the pace of the slowest one. Voltage consistency matters more than timing differences; keep an eye on whether the RAM operates normally at 2666 versus higher speeds like 3200 or 3600.
