Hi! It sounds like you're new to RPGs, which is totally okay. Your friend was able to finish the main story and keep playing afterward, which is great. Since you're just starting out, you should definitely be able to continue playing after completing the main quest. Just check the game's recommendations or guides for more tips!

Sure, when you complete the main quest line you will continue the game afterwards at the point where you get the "point of no return" in the main quest line. Hope you know what i mean, i don't want to spoil anything.

You can still access your previous save and retry the mission any number of times, even after dying in the final quest.
